CASE STUDY - AMERICA'S MOST LOVED COLA
A central Asia Coca Cola bottling plant requires purified ingredient water for their beverage products. A treatment method with maximum water utilization and minimum wastewater generation is necessary for
achievement of corporate water replenishment goal.
Coca-Cola installed two Desalitech ReFlex Reverse Osmosis systems at the facility. The systems produce 700 gpm (175 m3/h) of high purity ingredient water at recovery rates of more than 93%, far exceeding what is achievable with traditional multi-stage reverse osmosis systems. Maximum recovery operation helps Coca-Cola meet its goal to give back 100% of the amount of water it uses in its finished beverages and in their production to communities and nature. Not only has the plant achieved its water sustainability goals, but it has done so while increasing the reliability and flexibility of its water operations.
Achieved Water Sustainability Goals
– The high purity reverse osmosis permeate meets the highest quality
standards for use in Coca-Cola products.
– 93% recovery – High recovery means better utilization of water supplies and less
waste to dispose of.
– The facility was able to achieve a water neutral sustainability goal.
