Purchasing an industrial reverse osmosis system can be an intimidating and time-consuming process, so Desalitech has created a four-step guide to help our clients make informed decisions. Below are some excerpts from the guide, which you can download in full here.
Step1: Understand the Current Technology
Reverse osmosis has been an industrially viable technology since the 1970s, and it is the single most widely applied method of water purification. This can make it easy to assume all systems are basically equal, but this would be a mistake.
Step 2: Identify Your Priorities
Even if you understand what’s available, it’s no use if you don’t also understand your own needs. What factors are most important to you? Do you need high water quality? Do you need to reduce your wastewater production?
Step 3: Plan Ahead
When making a large purchase like a new water purification system, it’s helpful to plan in advance for the various stakeholders and internal approvals you’ll need to complete the process. Engineering, executive, finance, legal, marketing, procurement: all will likely be involved at some point.
Step 4: Consider Total Cost and Return on Investment
When evaluating a reverse osmosis system, be sure to take a comprehensive look at the factors to influence both the cost of ownership and the return on investment. This includes obvious factors like the initial capital costs and water costs, but also easy-to-overlook factors like opportunity cost (the cost of doing nothing) and savings on training with easy-to-use systems.
Desalitech’s water purification experts are happy to work with you on all of these steps. At Desalitech, we believe equally in saving water and saving our clients from operational headaches. To download your free copy of the comprehensive 4 Step Guide, please enter your name and email below:
